A Great Team
What makes a great team? When we come together as family, in a platoon or in any organization, what ingredients makes a team great? The scripture reveals to us a few ingredients of a great team, “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administrating God’s grace in its … Continue reading
home on wheels
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise;“–Hebrews 11:8-9 Well, it is official, I have decided for at least … Continue reading
Blessings of Freedom
Today, I am chilling at a local Starbucks and am glad that I didn’t make any plans to be with friends during this 4th of July. Mind you, it is not that I am anti-social but, it is just a simple desire to be left alone… by myself processing-reflecting on–blessings of freedom–that our country enjoys. And as I sit with a cup of java, I look out the window and see American flags hanging on … Continue reading
Room @the Table
Tonight, around dinner time, the children of the family living upstairs were louder than preferred. So, I decided to drive to the Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant (a favorite of mine!) to dine at the Table by myself and craft tomorrow’s invocation prayer for the Battalion’s formal dinner. I ordered salad & brown rice with chicken/beef along with all the goodies on top and asmall cup of unsweeten tea. Before I left the house, I quickly … Continue reading
kings, prophets, & priests
Today, we had a Chaplain’s training conference in Kandahar, Afghanistan. In the morning, we spent the training session with 82nd Airborne Division. In the afternoon, we spent the training session with the 3-2 Stryker Brigade. Not only did I enjoy awesome fellowship with fellow Chaplains, but also I was stimulated by the good training. Saying this, we, Chaplains live in a different world than most of our counterpart faith leaders in the Christian community. Our … Continue reading

prayerlessness
A prayerless soul is a Christless soul.–C.H. Spurgeon. Last Friday, I went to visit a friend of mine. And during this visit, he had a prayer meeting at his house. As everyone was praying, I was reminded of the importance of prayer. And being silent before God, I was impressed on the importance of prayer. And then I came to the realization of three profound insights: 1) God is always moved by prayer, 2) I … Continue reading
