another blog

For quite some time, I have been brewing over the idea on whether to begin another blog about my personal faith journey. oikoscornelius.org is really for my Army Chaplaincy ministry. And I wanted to create another blog space so I can separate the Army Chaplaincy ministry and my own personal blog. For those of you that enjoy discovering what Army Chaplains do, have no fear, we will continue posting and the page will be under the … Continue reading

goals

Have you ever set goals for yourself and seem to fall short in achieving them? Are you the type of person that has small goals and tasted the fruit of one or two goals accomplished? Or perhaps you, like me, from time to time write down goals that seem absurd–like Habakkuk who wrote impossible goals down on a stone tablet– or where it seemingly is humanly impossible to achieve your goals. And yet, how many … Continue reading

clump of clay

Have you ever felt the pressure of the Father’s hands molding, shaping you into something extraordinary? Have you been through circumstances (or for some, tragedies) where you feel overwhelmly pressed? Have you been through the trials of fire that life has to offer? I have. This last few weeks, I have the privileged in being enrolled in the Master’s Resiliency Trainer certification course. The materials is based on the Complete Soldiers Fitness program, a program … Continue reading

Not only do I feel privileged, I am excited to learn more about holistic fitness for both personal and professional usage.  And so, for the next few weeks, I am a student in this course. The MRT course is based off of the Comprehensive Soldier Fitness program. The Comprehensive Soldier Fitness is a … Continue reading

Tacoma Neighborhood

Today, I decided to spend some time at Wright park located in our neighborhood. Wright park is a nice park located on the back side of Tacoma. A lot of people out walking, running, playing basketball and grilling while they listen to music and visit with family and friends. The park itself has over 50-different trees with plenty of grass space to lay around. And there are fountain ponds to enjoy! A bonus, there is … Continue reading

lemons of service

I thought that I would start blogging again. And so, here is me warming up to the idea of blogging regularly… This is the first weekend all summer where I actually relax. You see, the Army transferred me to Joint-Base Lewis-McChord to the 502nd Military Intelligence Battalion. And, for the past 45-days, I have moved, found a place to live in Seattle area and set up my office at work. Tiring, for sure. But…I finally … Continue reading
